I wish I could say I got to see the Steelers/Bears game Sunday afternoon.But sadly I did not,Or should I say I'm glad I didn't? From the clips that I have seen,The Steelers made HUGE mistakes on both sides of the ball.Here are just a few that I have actually read/watched.
Jeff Redd misses 2 field goals.Yes it's been 5 years since he actually missed 2 in 1 game,But blaming the turf?Come on Jeff,You play on 1 of the worst fields in the league!Missing 1 while ahead by 7 may not be so bad,But missing the second when we are tied,And giving the Bears a chance to go ahead.
But the defense did not hold the Bears when it mattered most!Poor play on their part in a game you should have won,I guess I was wrong by saying Tyrone Carter would fill in nicely for Troy Polamalu,He was burned for 2 td's .I hope this doesn't continue for another 2-5 weeks!
The offense,Well a few things good,And a few things bad.
Let's start with the good..The offensive line was solid,Giving up 1 sack(And that can be blamed on Large Ben holding the damn ball for so long!!)
The bad?Santonio Holmes drops 3 passes,1 of those an easy touchdown.. Willie Parker STILL is not the Fast Willie Parker of days gone by,Still only about 3.35 yards a carry(yeah I know that is better)But if you are going to say week 1 was all your fault,Then run for 47 yards?
Special teams.Yes you held the "great"Devin Hester to 14 yards,But Ike Taylor got 2 penalties for blocking in the back,Backing the offense up before they even got on the field...
All in all the mistakes take a very winnable game,And turned it into a loss..

To continue the crappy themed weekend,I went 1-3 in pick ems!! Thanks to the New York Andres,I avoided a goose egg.. Better luck next week i guess!!!
