Steelers Sign Free Agents

The Pittsburgh Steelers were very quiet in the first couple days of the free agency
period.. That changed very quickly on Monday afternoon..


In the last 4 or 5 hours,The Steelers have signed WR Arnaz Battle,And Safety Will Allen.And they were not done there.
Also signed, Former Steeler Antwan Randle El,And Saftey Ryan Clark.. And there is talk of bringing back Larry Foote(Released from Detroit)..

What does this mean for the 2010 Steelers? It means WR Limas Sweed has probably missed his chance(Pun intended)to make it as the third or even fourth WR...

The Steelers probably tried to give him a plane ticket out of town,But he promptly dropped it..

I don't know a lot about Allen,Shawn had this to say about the former Buckeye,
Decent in zone coverage,good hands for a safety,doesn't drop a lot of interceptions chances
Can play the strong or the weak safety,decent tackler but not outstanding.
A solid Steeler type player,who should fit in well as the nickel back as long as he isn't exposed to a real speed receiver as he isn't the fastest DB around.

Battle comes from San Fransisco,Where he played 8 seasons.. Not a lot of production out him in those 8 years, The best year he had was 2006 when he had 686 yards and 59 receptions..

Randle El comes back from the Washington Redskins(Who he signed with after Super Bowl 40)after 5 seasons.He will probably be remembered more for his 43 yard touchdown pass to Hines Ward in Super Bowl 40 then anything he ever did playing for the Redskins..

Ryan Clark was released by Pittsburgh on Friday,And said all along he would rather retire a Steeler, Having Will Allen and Ryan Clark in the same secondary may cause Ravens RB Willis McGahee to have night mares.. Allen is the player who broke Magahee's leg in the BCS title game,And of course Ryan Clark almost put Willis out of football in the 2008 AFC Championship game..



I am not going into a lot of detail over the Rothlisbeger incident,I just have to say if you put yourself in situations that may be bad, Bad things may happen..

For someone who has already had a sexual assault case against him,Judgement is not something Large Ben used well...
