Pen/Habs Matchup

After getting by the very tough Ottowa Senators in 6 games,The Pittsburgh Penguins had to wait,And wait to find out who they would be playing in the Semi Finals..After dispatching the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference ,The Montreal Canadiens showed Pittsburgh who they will see next.


Both goalies have had their share of bad luck in the opening round,Pens goalie Marc Andre Fleury was 4-2 in the Ottowa series,Ending that series with a 2.75 GAA ..


Montreal's goalie,Jaroslav Halak Had a 4-2 record,Ending his series against Washington with a 2.46 GAA..

Sidney Crosby leads all NHL players with 14 points in his first series,And is hungry for even more.

Evgeni Malkin is the next highest scorer  for the Pens, With 8 points..

Michael Cammalleri is Montreals's scoring leader with 8 points.

Pittsburgh won the regular season series,Out scoring the Habs 15-9,Including a pair of wins at The Igloo.Where they won by a combined score of 9-2..

The key for the Penguins to win this series?It begins,And ends with Sid getting the puck,Even when he doesn't have the puck Crosby is dangerous..


The Penguins do things for their fans that I don't think anyone else does..Examples? How about showing the game on a big screen for fans who don't have tickets..Does that really matter in the end? Not really.But it's a great thing to do to keep your fans into  games..

.Games are won and lost by Goalies,And this is the time of year some goalies rise,And others fall.. I'm banking on Fleury to turn his game up yet another notch..

As for my prediction? I am going to say Penguins in 6,Sid will lead all scorers with 15.. Fleury will have a GAA of about 2.15..

And don't forget about Evgeni Malkin,Mom and Dad are coming back to the Burgh,Nothing makes things better like a bit of home cookin!!I see Geno scoring 14 in the series..

BREAKING NEWS..Just heard this as I was finishing up this post,Brett Farve to have ankle surgery.. Yeah..That breaks my heart..
