Key additions..Unless you count the off season trade for Infielder Aki Iwamura,Not much really..Bobby Crosby joins the Battlin Bucs of the Mon,As does Reliever Octavio Dotel and Ryan Church..Yeah I know,Not alot to get excited about right?
Key Departures..
Well let's start off with what may be the WORST move by this front office since they took over.. Not tendering RP Matt Capps,Then releasing him..
Was Capps good?It's always a safe bet when Capps was pitching to be standing.. Because with him closing,You could not just sit and enjoy the game..That's his style,Make it interesting..Then close the door.. Good luck with that in DC..
The Pirates Infield will be totally different then it was Opening day 2009.. Gone are Jack Wilson,Freddy Sanchez(Who may miss the entire first month for the Giants)And Adam LaRoche..
What does the Infield look like Opening day 2010?

Wow.. I had a number picked out for wins,But after reading that..I changed my mind!!
Pitching should be..Well....Honestly.This is the scary part of this team(Some may argue this point,I ask who the hell are you?)
After Duke,The Pirates are short on arms..Charlie Morton is the guy some publications have said will be the ace on this staff..I would like to put my money on Paul Maholm..
The Bullpen should be very interesting this year..After trading John Grabow,And letting Matt Capps head to Washington The bullpen now has Dotel as closer,With,Get this Brendan Donnelly, Evan Meek, Javier Lopez, Carrasco, Taschner,And Hayden Penn..
And Penn was not even with this team a week ago!!
If anyone thinks this team is a 500 club,You need to stop drinking the paint thinner!!!
The ONLY way this team could be 500?Every other team in NL (Comedy)Central would have to have the worst year possible..And The Pirates would have called up Lincoln,Alvarez,And Tabata..And that just won't happen folks..
Bottom line this team is going to struggle just to avoid 100 losses again..
If you want a pretty picture,Go outside,and take a picture of flowers..My guess is this team hits about 59 wins...If things go right(And they never do)I would give them 72 wins..Any way you slice it they do not look good at all!!!
Am I being mean?Nope just being brutally honest..I am a life long Pirates Suff...I mean fan.And I wish nothing but NL Central titles,And World Series wins..But it's not going to happen for awhile...
