The Pittsburgh Pirates of 2008 are showing alot more fight then any other version they have put on the field in years. They really didn't hit the ball hard at all today,The longest drive was a sac fly.Zach Duke is starting to look like the pitcher of old again,Working 6 innings,Giving up 2 runs on 5 hits,Walking 2,And striking out 5.He did walk 2,But it's alittle easier to have 2 walks against the 5k's.Randy Johnson on the hand was looking like a 2008 version of Ian Snell,Instead of the fire baller that Johnson is,His line today, 5 2/3 innings pitched,Giving up 5 runs on 6 hits,Walking 5,And only 3 k's.1 of the walks Johnson gave up was to Doug Mientkiewicz,Who stepped out of the box a couple times during his at bat,Which didn't sit well with Johnson,Who at 1 point walked towards home plate,Mientkiewicz,And Johnson had to be separated by home plate umpire Jeff Kellogg,As both benches cleared along with the bullpens. No fists were thrown,And cooler heads prevailed. After the game Johnson was asked about the disagreement,And this is a great quote,I t didn't bother me at all,Johnson said"“If it would have, he’d probably be on a stretcher and I’d probably be out of the game.”Nothing like baseball on a very hot June afternoon.NY Giants LB Michael Strahan is calling it quits FOXSports.com' broke the exclusive story.I only know 1 Giants fan,And she is probably the biggest Giants fan there is.For her there is sadness, But look at it this way, Strahan went out on top.I know i was sad to see Jerome Bettis retire,But happy knowing he finally got the ring he wanted for so many years.Best of luck Michael.

Thanks for including Michael's retirement in your post... while its hard to realize that he's played his final game it was nice to know he played it during the Super Bowl (and that he rattled Tom Brady) and now has the ring. Can't wait to hear his acceptance speech when he is inducted into the Hall of Fame!
No problem...anything for a loyal reader lol
