Making Up For Lost Time
When i wrote the earlier post i totally forgot about the Keys/Kinston game Shawn,Rachel,Ryan,And myself traveled to yesterday. We had planned on going to the game for a couple weeks,But after Shawn saw the announcement the game started at 6:05,Not 7:05 we had to leave Hagerstown alittle earlier then we had planned. The early start was worth it, When the gates opened at 4:50,Note to Hagerstown,Open your gates alittle earlier,You may make some very easy money on the hot summer days by just getting people in a few minutes early? As we walked through the gate,We were handed a ticket for an item off the Key's table on the first base side. And there was a pretty good bounty there. From Cal Ripken Bobble heads(They went fast)To The FSK Bobbleheads,And hats,Bats,Tshirts,And other items.Shawn got 1 of the Keys glasses(Which are very nice btw)Ryan got a near full size Louisville Slugger bat(Which he gave to Rachel)While Rachel got a Tshirt.I went with 1 of the Keys ball caps.1 thing we did not know about before we got to the Park,It was scout sleepover night at Harry Grove Stadium. That brought about 300 kids(And their parents)Plus fireworks,And all the free stuff had brought out a HUGE crowd.Ryan and i went over to the Keys side to get a few cards signed. Not alot of luck on that front,The Keys were wearing their brown uni's,Which have no names on the back, and no one grabbed a program with the players numbers,So we worked on getting who we knew. The 1 signature we wanted to get we could not get,Richie Hebner. It was right before game time,And he came out,And I'm not making this up,He zig zagged around the crowd waiting,Ignoring the request of a young boy who had made a point to get the Managers autograph.Ryan and I decided to cut our losses,And head back over to the third base side. That may have been the worst idea all night! The reason behind that?Every Cub Scout had been on the field for a pregame walk/honor.They brought them all up the third base steps, right in front of concession stand,Which at this point was already packed with people waiting for food and drinks. It was after the National Anthem Shawn shocked me by saying this."Bob,whenever you're ready to go,We're out of here I figured he would want to catch at least 2 or 3 innings,But nope we were about to head out before the 2ND inning even started. As we started to walk out,Shawn suggested we go out the side door(beside the visitors clubhouse)To save going through all the people.Good choice Shawn! As we were walking across the grass,I looked to my right,And saw a baseball.I figured it was a batting practice ball,But Shawn and i looked at it,And it was an official game ball! This trip just kept paying off!So we got to the car,and headed home,Figuring we could watch the Bucs.Well they were in a rain delay,So we didn't even miss a pitch.Ok,Enough rambling about that lol.. Here's something I'm sure no one will be spending money on The Official Website of Frederick Keys Baseball: Class A Affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles. Let me know how many will be attending. My bet is zero!

But Ken "Eddie Haskell" Osmond is the MC!
That guarantees the quality!
Seriously, that will draw OK,just that we are not the demographic that they are marketing to.
And the demographic is who? over 50 Hillbillies?I wonder if Ken will say"Hey Ms Gayle,You sure look good tonight" nevermind.. she's gotta be close to 70 now LOL
So you guys are saying that we aren't going to go meet Eddie Haskell???
And I'm still disappointed about missing the Counting Crows last year.
Not really.
