Meltdown!

The Pittsburgh Pirates appeared to be cruising in their game against the Baltimore Orioles at Candem Yards,And reaching that "magical" 500 record for the first time this late in a season since 1991.Well they "Appeared" to be .After the O's scored a first inning run,The Bucs came back and scored 2 in the 2nd inning,In the 3rd,Doug Mientkiewicz's single scored Jason Bay,Then with 2 men on,Jason Michaels drilled a 3 run HR to deep left making the score 6-1.Well that's where the fun begins,Baltimore scored 1 in the 4th,3 more in the 5th,And goodbye lead,Now it's time to stop the bleeding,And get back in the game.That sadly did not happen.The O's scored 4 more runs the rest of the way in shocking 9-6 Baltimore win.Phil Dumatrait did not look good at all in this game,Giving up 5 runs,On 5 hits,Only 3 k's,And 5 walks!The game was still in doubt when Dumatrait left the game,Enter Franquelis Osoria,Who made sure the Bucs did not pull this win off.Osoria went a whopping 2/3 of an inning,Giving up 2 runs on 3 hits.But the fun did not stop there,Sean Burnett took over,And gave 2 innings of "relief" his line,2 innings,2 runs on 2 hits,Walking 3,And giving up a Luke Scott HR.Let's hope for better results tonight as the Buccos take on the hated O's at Md state taxpayers Park At Candem Yards.Catcher Ryan Doumit was hit less in all 4 at bats,3 Pirates had 2 hits each,Bay,Michaels,And Jack Wilson.Speaking of Wilson,All he has done since coming off the DL is ring up .310 average,And I don't think he has had an error since coming back. Minor League game of the week(Well that i watched) I didn't get to see the Bucs loss,As I was in Frederick watching the Keys take on the Potomac Nationals.It was a scoreless contest until the 3rd inning,As Francisco Plasencia slammed a home run to left to give the P Nats a 1-0 lead.The Nationals added 2 more runs in the 4th inning,Chris Marrero drew a walk,And Edgardo Baez would hit a drive to right.Brandon Snyder would put the Keys on the board with a double to center,Scoring Matt Weiters.With the Keys down by 1 in the 7th inning,Billy Rowell connected with a 419 foot shot to deep center.That would be as close as the Keys would get.The Nationals added 2 more runs in the 8th,And avoided a scare with bases loaded in the 9th,To win the game 5-3.Photo credit-(Doumit/Michaels-AP)
