Taking The Show On The Road

Greetings sports fans(Sorry,Just got done watching Major League)Friday evening saw myself,And Shawn take a road trip to Harrisburg to see the Senators take on the Altoona Curve. As I said in one of my first posts,This is a very easy Ballpark to get to.I think the total drive time was under 90 minutes. This is the first game we have seen in The Senators home park,Although Ryan and I had visited the night before the season opener.First impressions of the park,It's a very nice AA park,And Harrisburg has built quite a large following.Autographs were much easier to get the advertised,Jose Tabata,Who was just called up Friday, Signed a ball for me,And signed a card for Shawn.I do have This-,Yes this is 4 months earlier, And we didn't do a video this time(My Camera was having battery issues)

As for the game, We were "lucky"enough to catch Yoslan Herrera in his comeback to AA.And he did exactly what we thought he would do.After getting a 1-0 lead,Thanks to Tabata's stolen base,And wild pitch he later scored on.Herrera looked sharp in the first inning,Striking out the side. That's when the wheels started to come off,Herrera made it through the second inning,In the third Herrera would lose even more,Seth Bynum's 3 run Hr gave the Senators a 4-1 lead,And they never looked back in a 6-2 Harrisburg win.Herrera's line,4IP,6R,5ER,1BB,6SO,1HR.Not very impressive

Harrisburg is a very odd park,1 Of the only parks I've been to that has most of the box seats behind home plate. They have a very nice section RIGHT behind plate(You're almost sitting on top of the plate. The only real problem with the section we sat in? If you're sitting in the first row,You have a hard time seeing due to a handrail that runs across the top half of the Home plate boxes.

I only had french fries, But from what I saw, They did have alot to offer other then "normal"ballpark fare.Prices seemed good, Considering this is AA baseball, You would think it would cost more(As the prices usually go up level to level)I'd have to ask Ryan if he had anything other then fries, I'm sure he'll comment if he did..

Overall,I'd give Commerce Bank Park a good,I've only seen 1 great park this year(Allentown)Ticket prices,And keeping the fans in the game are highlights.Really only 1 low light,Seems like everywhere you go in the park,You have to climb a 100 steps.

I also had a hot dog- which refreshingly did not have any odd-colored stripes.

Yeah always a plus not to have dots, and stripes on a hot dog..
