Nothing was up for grabs in Sundays game against the Browns,But Coach Mike Tomlin decided he wanted all his starters playing at least 1 quarter,And others more.Turns out he had Large Ben for just under 2 quarters.With about 1:48 left in the 2ND quarter,Ben went out of the box,Looking for an open receiver.That's when Willie McGinest,And D'Qwell(hunt)Jackson went high and low .
I am not going to say that hit was dirty,But The source of the hit should speak for itself.Willie McGinest is 1 of the biggest piles of shit in the NFL. I'm sure Shawn will back me up when I say McGinest didn't exactly make headlines in his time in Cleveland. Large Ben was down for about 15 minutes as trainers put him on a backboard,and had a stretcher brought out for him.
Now I have had this talk with a couple people,And there should be no one taking shots at Mike Tomlin.He knows that it will be 14 days till his team sees action again,And unlike Tony"Rollover"Dungy,Tomlin had his guys play more then 1 series.
A few things were taken as positives out of this game.The running game picked up 176 yards,Yes it was against 1 of the worst teams in the league against the run,But anything to make a positive, You do it.
The Steelers allowed 20,Yes 20 net Yards passing to the Browns.The leading receiver for Bruce Gradkowski?Steelers safety Tyrone Clark,Who had 50 yards,And a touchdown on 2 interceptions.
Hines Ward had a couple reasons to smile(Smire)Going over the 1,000 yard mark for the season.Ward also ended with 82 receptions for the year,And also got his 800TH catch as a Steeler from QB Dennis Dixon in the 4TH quarter. This is Wards 5Th time to go over a 1,000 yards receiving in a season.
Next weekend has the opening rounds of the 2008 playoffs, The AFC will see the Indianapolis Colts travel to San Diego to take on the Chargers.
And the Baltimore Ravens get permission from their parole officers to travel to Miami to face the Dolphins..
