Random Rumblings

Sorry for yet another delay in bringing you yet another post,Yet another long week here at Grumblings HQ.

With the hectic schedule I have missed a few stories as of late,Let's try and recap a little shall we.

Brett Farve retires(again)-If he is being honest,And is actually retiring this time,I wish him well in his future endeavours,But if he is just retiring to use a loophole to get even more truckloads of money backed up to his house from a NFC North team, I am sure the list of people that get more and more disgusted with his antics will continue to rise!


Which brings me to something i have been wanting to talk about.Why is it 2 years ago Farve was hailed as the Messiah,And the next coming of Jeebus himself,When he did the EXACT same things he did this past season?
Honestly, How can someone who has such a me first attitude be so loved?Throwing into triple coverage,Making bonehead plays when he should have just thrown the ball away.

It's really funny to sit back and listen to sports radio(Even more then usual).After finding out that ARod actually tested positive for steroids,You would have thought he opened fire in a daycare center!
My personal thoughts about the whole steroid issue?You have to have SOME talent to actually be at that level of baseball,Yes he violated the rules by taking them,But so have almost 125 others in the same group that was tested that year. So who else is going to be ripped into by the "media"? He did not go before Congress and swear to God he never took any kind of performance enhancing drugs,He said this to Katie Couric,Who the last time I checked was not wearing wings or anything.Some day we may get a larger picture of who did what,And I hate to say it,But I'm sure there are more then 1 or "legends"that have juiced up at some point.

Speaking of the "media"It's so funny to listen to them actually praise a guy,And then minutes later make them out to be the worst human being alive.Case in point,James Harrison.End of the first half of Super Bowl 43,Harrison runs a interception back 100 yards.In the second half of the game,After seeing only part of a replay,John Madden rips into Harrison after seeing "footage"of Harrison knocking down a Arizona defender.The whole story was that Harrison was actually pushing the guy down,Yes it was more then once,But it was a push,Not a punch,Big difference when it comes from a guy the size of Harrison.
