Nick Adenhart
I was getting ready to follow up on the last few days
of baseball,And a few other things this morning,When I
overheard something on CNN about a 22 year old baseball player
being in a accident.That's when I heard
the name of the 22 year old,Nick Adenhart.
To sit here and say I knew Nick well would be a lie,But
I have followed his career from the time he signed with
the Angels,And his rise through the Minor Leagues.Baseball
America had Nick listed as the Angels #1 prospect.
Nick had pitched a great 6 innings of shutout baseball Wed night.
The Angels pitching rotation had been dealt a huge blow
before the season even started,3 pitchers started the
season on the DL,Which meant
Nick would get at least a few starts,
Possibly more if he did well.
Thinking he would be shipped down,Nick had not brought his car to La
with him He would catch a ride with friends. At about 12:30am west
coast time,Nick was in a car that was hit by a
drunk driver(Who already had his license suspended)Police estimate
the mini van was going approx 80,And ran the red light hitting
the car Nick,And 3 other people were in,Along with another car.
The driver of the mini van then fled on foot and was later apprehended.
Someone was quoted today,Saying it was like being punched in the gut.
I think that's the best way to explain it.
Here are a couple places friends,And fans of Nick can leave
thoughts of him,Or offer the family sympathy.

Yes Rip Nick . He was someone I looked up to, since I pitch in Highschool I always try to look at some of the best players in this and he was one of them. And like you said Bob the guy who did this to him should'nt have been on the road. It's sad I don't know when people is going to stop drinking and driving.
