What's Happening This Week

As we approach our 5,000TH reader here at G&R I want top talk about a few things that have made the headlines..If you are a first time reader,Welcome I hope you come back and check out our site.And thank you to everyone who reads this,And some times enjoys reading it..

Now I know this blog is nowhere near being a political hot spot.That being said I can't sit back and not comment on the idiocy that is being spread about the upcoming address by President Obama to school children all across the United States.

I do not understand why this is such a big deal.I guess people think he is going to talk about health care?Yeah no audience is better to make your point to then a group of kids who can't vote for at least a decade or more in some cases...

There's talk of people pulling their kids out of school Tuesday,Yeah that makes total sense! Hey kids,I don't want you to hear your President wishing you good luck in your school year,Or saying he believes in education.. That is just crazy!!!



I have had a back and forth discussion on facebook with someone who "claims"he isn't a republican,But yet is saying what Obama is doing Tuesday is amounting to Socialism.He's trying to fix the mess that was created by Governor(He was NEVER elected)Bush by bailing out the auto industry,Banking,And yes Health care...How is this Socialism?

Explain to me please,How trying to jump start the economy that was left in ruins by a president who was all about war spending,And fixing the wrongs of a failed president is socialism?

I'm sure next you'll tell me we all will be fitted with tracking chips,And the Government will know our every move..Or that we will be sent to camps.. Please stop the insanity!!!

Prove me wrong that what President Obama is doing is leading us to socialism,Show me valid points that you can clearly show this is happening.

I'm sure I will have many views about this,But I am in favor of a Government health care system.
How sad is it that the United States does not have a national system in place,How can we actually be trailing other countries in this?

Enough about politics,Let's talk football!!! Ohio State starts their 2009 season Saturday at Noon
The Buckeyes open the season ranked#6 in the country against Navy...When was the last time Navy was really good?Just asking..My prediction,Ohio State 52,Navy 14..

Yes they are still playing baseball(sort of)in the Burgh.The Pirates finally ended yet another horrible road trip coming back home with a 7 game losing streak,Their record as of this afternoon?53-79 ,Fighting Baltimore for the third pick in 2010 draft! Way to succeed Buccos!!!

The Steelers open their 2009 defense of their 6TH World Championship on Thursday Sept 10

I was watching the Ducks/Boise State game last night,But fell asleep before the ending.. Damn did I miss the action.. LeGarrette Blount sucker punched Byron Hout after the game had ended



Blount was suspended this afternoon for the entire 2009 season.. And honestly should be banned from playing again!

And finally..The world almost got a little brighter this week


Sadly he was not hurt..
