Your First Place Pirates?

Yes you read that correctly!!!

After today's 6-4 win over the Astros,And with the Reds losing last night,Your Pittsburgh Pirates are ,As of this writing 1/2 game up in the National League Central. At the halfway mark of the season,The Bucs are 45-36. This is the most they have been over .500 this late in the season since....1992..

.Yes,I know what you are going to say,We know how that ended. You are correct,But as much as that series will forever haunt the Pittsburgh faithful,We were 1 game away from the World Series..

We had to endure 19 plus horrible, Horrible years of inept General Managers, Cheap drafts,And so many other things that would make most fans run for the Clemente bridge!! But this team... Just has that special feel to it.. They almost refuse to lose close games now.


.Last year(And many ,Many before that)We would have packed it in when faced with a deficit..Not these guys.Other then that horrible series in Baltimore the Bucs have won or split every series.. They are currently 7-3 in their last 10 games, And 26-13 at home . It may not last all season..But what the hell..Enjoy this wonderful ride while it lasts!!!
