For a song title,But the Pittsburgh Pirates of 2008 may use this as their team song,Considering how long it's been since they have actually won a 3 game series! The Bucs must have remembered that old commercial for MLB back in the day"Chicks dig the long ball" As they went yard 3 times,Scoring all 6 runs on home runs by Jason Bay,Raul Chavez,And Jose Bautista .That was all the offense Pirate starter Paul Maholm would need,Going 7 innings allowing 3 runs on 7 hits,Walking 3 and 1 strikeout. What the biggest shock would be the bullpen acted like a real Major League bullpen,And did it's job allowing now runs in 2 innings work! Then Sunday came,Time for starter Ian Snell to put that awful Chicago start behind him and work on a new master piece.Well,It didn't quite work out that way.Snell lasted only 4 innings,And left with "Elbow Tenderness"Never good words to hear for a pitcher.Snell gave up 4 run on 8 hits,Walking 4,And only 2 strikeouts in a no decision.Bad luck for reliever TJ Beam who just got called up yesterday,As he picks up the loss after allowing only 1 run in 1 1/3 innings.Franquelis Osoria gave up 3 more to make that final score 8-5.Phil Dumatrait was put on the 15 day disabled list for rotator cuff soreness last night,And now Snell may be joining him there. That leaves Zach Duke,Tom Gorzelany,And Paul Maholm as the only healthy starters in the rotation.Note to Pirates front office. No JVB!No Bullington!
