Opening Night..Kinda

If you have not had the chance to ever take in a game at Muncipal Stadium,I highly recomend it...

If you caught my sarcasm,Congratulations!! After the debacle this evening,I would NOT recomend a visit to the Muni any time soon!!!










See the line?Funny thing about that line.The photo was taken at 6:07 PM,The gates were SUPPOSED to be open at 6..BUT the Suns being the Suns,Did not tell the over 2000+ in the crowds that the game was being delayed for about 30 minutes....

 I did forget to mention that we did have rain in the Hagerstown area around 4:445,So it was 1 hour and 15 minutes before gates opened,How does rain prevent gates from opening?I understand the field not being ready..But I have never seen a ball club not open the stadium to it's fans(You know the people who actually pay to get in?)


This is where the fans starting getting pissed off,And rightfully so.First off you not only raise ticket prices,And also take over half the General Admission seats away under the grandstand,To put in "Reserved"seating.

Here's the problem I see..How is this seat that costs another $1.00 any better?There are no backs on the seats,It's just a blue seat,No back at all..And to make matters worse,You confuse your fans(and after tonight,I'm wagering there will be fewer!)By putting regular GA seats WITH the reserved???

This night was a cluster fuck from the word go.. You would think someone who is in charge of ticket sales(And had a big deal made of it)Could tell you when you bought a ticket that the gates would not open till 6:30..Nope not 1 word!!

Then add the confusion of no patrolling of lines, Which meant anyone just walked in front of you to get in.. Shitty service all around.. How bad is it when your own employees say it's a mess? Come on Really?

I can not count how many pissed off people I overheard tonight..This was probably 1 of the all time worst games I have been to.. And that includes snow games,Rain outs a lot worse then tonight..

I normally would give them slack since this is opening night and all,But this was just mismanagement .Plain and simple.. Here's an idea,Stop walking around clapping..Maybe,Just maybe if you stopped having Woolie act like he's going to let people in,And treat your fans,Your customers with some fucking respect.. Don't make them stand outside,With no idea when,Or if you're going to open the gates!!!

Have ushers who know what is going on help people..I understand you have new people..But how about putting them some where they can be useful,Like maybe keeping lines organized.. It's probably a miracle that nothing happened to people trying to squeeze into an area that's maybe 8 feet across...

Here's yet another great idea.. How about moving anything within a certain area away from the entrance?wouldn't it be easier to get in,And out if you have a nice open path?

In case you were wondering about the final score?Suns win in 5 1/2 inning rain shortened game 1-0

All I know is if this is the shitty treatment that I will see the rest of the year,I'll be spending A LOT of time in Frederick watching the Keys.. Much better at taking care of their fans,And seats are cheaper,And better....
